Obituary: Walter J. Frizzell, Raised in Medford, WWII Veteran

Frizzell died Tuesday, Nov. 12.

Walter J. Frizzell died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013. Born in Roxbury on June 1, 1927, he grew up in Medford and lived in Watertown. He worked for 38 years as a draftsman at General Electric in Everett. He belonged to Local #142, the International Federation of Professional Technical Engineers. He was a member of the Aleppo Shrine and a member of the Temple Guard Unit. He served as Seaman First Class in the U.S. Navy. He was the recipient of the WWII Victory Medal. Walter was predeceased by his wife, Estella (Sears) Frizzell, who was originally of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, mother Gladys (Behie) Frizzell, originally from Nova Scotia, father Kenneth Frizzell, originally from Prince Edward Island, and brother Gerald Frizzell, originally from Nova Scotia. He is survived by his nephew Doug Frizzell and wife, Jo Frizzell, of Mississippi, their son and daughter, and three granddaughters and one grandson. A funeral service will be held in the Brown & Hickey Funeral Home, 36 Trapelo Road, Belmont, on Sunday, Nov. 24, at 3 p.m. Relatives and friends invited.
