Obituary: Wilfred 'Bill' Kitchen, Longtime Medford Resident

Kitchen died Thursday, Jan. 30.

Wilfred "Bill" Kitchen, a longtime Medford resident, died peacefully at home on Thursday, Jan. 30.

He was the beloved husband of Joan (Longo). Devoted father of Deborah Crowley of Medford. Cherished grandfather of Keith Crowley and his wife Jenn of Northbridge and Tracy Croteau and her husband Michael of Iowa City, Iowa. Proud great grandfather of Brandon Levi Croteau. Father-in-law of Skip Crowley of Melrose. Survived by several nieces and nephews.

Bill was born in Blunt, S.D. He enlisted in the Navy at 17 and proudly served his country. Upon his discharge, he moved to Massachusetts where he met the love of his life Joan. Bill worked as a foreman at Linco Tool and Machine Co. in Watertown for 43 years. When he retired, he put his woodworking skill to use and made crafts. He was quite handy. He was a member of VFW Post 1012 in Medford and an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.

Family and friends may visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Sunday, Feb. 2, from 2-5 p.m. concluding with a funeral service at 5 p.m. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Bill’s name to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 or to the charity of one's choice.
