Pellegrino 'Bill' Ragosa, Longtime Medford Resident, Dies at 82

Ragosa died Sunday, Dec. 8.

Pellegrino J. “Bill” Ragosa, 82, of Medford, died Sunday, Dec. 8, after a brief illness in the Tufts Medical Center, Boston.

Born in Boston, he resided in Medford for 43 years and was formerly of the North End of Boston. He was the son of the late Carmela (DeMarco) and Matteo Ragosa. Bill was the former Proprietor of the North End Auto Service for 30 years and retired in 1988. He was a late veteran U.S. Marine Corps. Korean War from 1952-1954. Also a very active member of the Arlington Retired Men’s Club.

Beloved husband of Mary (Squillacioti) Ragosa. Devoted father of Camille Gibbons and her husband Joseph of Harvard, Bill Ragosa and his wife Angela of The Woodlands, Texas, Maria Mastrocola and her husband Joseph of Newburyport, and John Ragosa and his wife Nina of Danvers. Also survived by 10 loving grandchildren and one loving great granddaughter. Brother of Hilda Belek of Norwood.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Pellegrino’s name to the American Lung Association of Massachusetts, 460 Totten Pond Road, Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451.
