Robert L. MacInnis Sr., "Papa," 82, of Medford, passed unexpectedly on Thursday, Dec. 5, surrounded by his family.

Papa was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, coach and sports nut. He was loved by all and just as importantly loved all - except for the Yankees. He was an active member of the Arlington Retired Men’s Club and a veteran of the Korean War. Papa always remarked that his greatest achievements were the family he and his wife Jeanette created and nurtured.

He often said that he had no items left on his bucket list and if he were to die today, he would die a happy man, passing with no regrets and if he had to do it all over, he would do everything exactly the same way.

Robert was the beloved husband of Jeanette (Gentile) MacInnis and devoted father of Robert MacInnis Jr. and his wife Michelle-Lee of North Andover, Karen Cox and her husband Kevin of Billerica, Patti Papkee and her husband Chris of Long Island, Maine.

He leaves his grandchildren Robert MacInnis III and his wife Shannon, Alyssa and Dillon MacInnis, Brian Cox and his wife Jess, Moey Cox-Donovon and her husband Jim , Christopher, Shauna, Brendan and the late Stephen Cox, and Justin and Erica Papkee. Robert was the loving great grandfather of Jacob MacInnis, Gracie and James Cox, and Sophie Donovon, and brother of Charles MacInnis of Medford, the late Joseph MacInnis and Ralph Seaver.

A funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis Of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-7 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Robert's name may be sent to Friends of Francis at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, MA 02155.
