Teasia Montgomery, Lifelong Medford Resident, Dies Unexpectedly at 28

A fund has been established to help her family with funeral expenses and to set up a trust account for her son Jaron.

Teasia Montgomery, a lifelong resident of Medford and loving mother of Jaron T. Montgomery, died unexpectedly in Boston on Monday, Jan. 27, 2014. She was 28.

Born in Boston on April 2, 1985, she was the beloved daughter of Kelley Montgomery of Medford and her fiancé Byron Weaver of Louisville, Ky., and Kenneth Ryland Sr. of Boston and significant other Pam Arthur.

Ms. Montgomery attended Medford High School and graduated from Lincoln Technical School with a massage therapy certification. She loved to go shopping and also enjoyed camping with her family and friends. Teasia had a wonderful sense of humor and was always very generous to others. She will be dearly missed. Above all, Teasia enjoyed spending time with her large family, especially her beloved son, Jaron.

Besides her parents and son, Teasia will be very sorely missed by her loving brothers: Kenneth Ryland Jr. of Boston and Deandre and Dante Montgomery, both of Medford; cherished grandparents: Judith A. Montgomery and her significant other Ronald L. Holliman, both of Medford, and John Reid of Medford and significant other Prendee Knight, Cleon Ryland of Arkansas and preceded in death by Edna Mae Ryland of Boston; dearest aunts: Adina Montgomery of Medford, Nicola Hampton of Brockton and Vernell Ryland of Boston, and uncles Varnard Herbin, Daran Herbin and Victor Ryland. Father figure: Derrick Chatman of Boston. She is also survived by a host of family and friends.

Her funeral service will be celebrated in the Zion Church Ministries, 757 Broadway, Everett, Friday, Feb. 7, 2014, at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held in the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Ave., Medford, Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
