Vincent L. Laiosa Sr., Longtime Medford Resident, WWII Veteran, Dies at 89

Laiosa died Saturday, Nov. 2.

Vincent L. Laiosa, Sr., 89, of Medford, died Saturday, Nov. 2, after a long illness in the South Shore Hospital, Weymouth.

Born in Boston, he lived in Medford since 1967 and was the son of the late Jenny (Fabiano) and John Laoisa. Vincent was a retired bookkeeper. He was a late U.S. Army veteran of WWII and a member of the Medford VFW Post 1012.

Beloved husband of the late Mary (Tanso) Laiosa. Devoted father of Mary Laiosa of Lynn, Vincent L. Laiosa, Jr. and his wife Mari of Stoneham, Linda Bate and her husband Mike of Holbrook, Debra Breton and her husband Roger of New Hampshire, Michael Laiosa and his wife Milva of Medford. Also survived by 11 loving grandchildren and eight loving great grandchildren. Brother of Mary Salamone of Randolph and the late Gerry and Frank Laiosa.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 p.m.

Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Vincent’s name to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
