Bob Penta Medford City Councillor

Political signs have always played a part in elections. Whether one agrees or not with any political candidate, their sign does represent a first amendment right of freedom of speech. During this election I having personally experienced the taking down and/or removal of my political signs on property that I have been given permission to put such sign. This is nothing more than a childish act.

During this campaign I understand that other candidates have likewise had their signs either taken and/or removed. This is so terribly wrong. We are a society that tells our children and future workers and political leaders to respect others and their property. These acts of political sign stealing and/or unauthorized removal by individuals only fosters a bad campaign taste for anyone who wants to get involved in being a candidate.

This type of nonsense should not be accepted in our City and those who are committing these despicable acts should be held accountable to the full extent of the law.

Respectfully written ... Bob Penta, Medford City Councillor
