Brooks estate funding

I can understand that the friends of the Brooks estate need funding to restore the buildings and property, BUT not at the expense of the
Tax Payers of the City of Medford.  Ok, maybe the City can contribute to some financial help to cost of the restoration, but not the whole 3.5 million. The property has been in disrepair for years. The access road off Grove St. has been closed for years. The road in from Oak Grove, can, at best only accommodate 1 piece  of emergency apparatus if there should be a fire, and that's only when there is no snow, and the road is kept clear the rest of the year.  It's bad enough that the City of Medford has short falls in the budget. Never enough money to repair the SIDEWALKS in the City that have been in desperate need of repair for years. Take for example, Sheridan Ave, Grant Ave. Sections of Salem Street, Lambert Street among the worst. Tree roots lifting the sidewalk panes and creating a very dangerous place to walk. But then again, Our city leader and the DPW just turn their heads. How many Law suits does the CITY of MEDFORD pay every year for injuries resulting from the deplorable condition of the SIDEWALKS. Not to mention the condition of many streets in the city. Look how long it took the CITY  to resurface Central Ave. The priorities are all wrong.
