  • The Perfect Boston Accent: This YouTube video (click the image on the right to watch) of Medford City Councilor Paul Camuso, uploaded in 2006, has received over 700,000 views. In it, Camuso discusses the need to review recreation areas in the city for maintenance, including "Cahh Pahk."
  • Jingle Bells: Though this James Piermont song, originally titled "The One Horse Open Sleigh," was published while Piermont lived in Georgia, Medford claims it as its own. Piermont lived in Medford in the 1840s and 1850s, and there's not a lot of snow to dash through in Georgia.
  • Michael Bloomberg (Sort of): The Mayor of New York grew up in Medford and graduated from Medford High before spurning New England for Manhattan and a successful business career. The second chapter of his authorized biography, written by Joyce Purnick, was titled "Escape from Medford."
  • Tufts University: Somerville can try to lay claim to the highly-regarded education institution - its campus streches across the city lines - but it's official mailing address is in Medford.
