A Medford man was arrested Wednesday night and charged with possession of child pornography, according to a Friday release from the state Attorney General’s office.
Yarami Marcano, 31, pleaded not guilty to the charge Thursday in Somerville District Court.
Judge Neil Walker released him on personal recognizance on the following conditions: he remain on house arrest, be monitored by GPS, surrender his passport, not leave the state, have only supervised access to the Internet and have no contact with any child under 18. The state had requested he be held on $10,000 cash bail.
Marcano is due back in court Nov. 18 for a pre-trial conference.
Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Attorney General’s office obtained information in July about a computer linked to Marcano’s residence that they believe possessed child pornography. They got a search warrant for the residence, which they executed Wednesday, and discovered the illegal images, according to the release.
The investigation is ongoing.
