Officer Still on Leave with Hand Injury Allegedly Caused by Medford Man

A Milton Police Officer is still on medical leave and a Medford man was arraigned Wednesday relating to an incident that occurred on Granite Avenue in Milton on June 19.

Massachusetts State Police took , into custody on three active default warrants from three different courts including one for unarmed robbery on Tuesday, August 7.

During the June incident, Ritson was the passenger in a vehicle driven by Moises Tevenal, 46, of Roxbury. According to Deputy Chief Charles Paris, Tevenal was pulled over by Officer Beth Coska for a traffic violation.

Officer Wanda Craig arrived on the scene as backup.

While the officers spoke to the operator, Ritson allegedly pushed him out of the vehicle and moved into the driver’s seat, according to Paris.

When Craig reached into the vehicle, Ritson closed the door on her fingers and began to drive off. Paris said the officer was able to pull her hand out before getting dragged by the vehicle.

Nearly two months after the incident, Craig is still out, nursing tendon damage. Paris said she could return to the job in the next few weeks.

State Police made a successful arrest of Ritson on Tuesday after he evaded them on a motorcycle during a previous attempt.
