Officials are investigating a series of arsons and acts of vandalism on Alexander Avenue in Medford.
The first arson occurred on the evening of Feb. 25 near 85 Alexandre Ave., when a 911 call reported fire and smoke coming from the address, according to a statement from the . Investigators collected evidence found at the scene for further investigation and determined the fire was intentionally set, police said.
On March 3, at about 11:25 p.m. a similar incident occurred in the area of 96 Alexander Ave. There have been several acts of vandalism in the past few months in the same area and investigators believe there may be a connection between the vandalism and the fires, according to the statement.

The Arson Watch Reward Program, funded by the property and casualty insurance companies of Massachusetts, is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that helps to solve the case.
