Massachusetts State Police allegedly recovered two kilograms of cocaine in a child car seat Saturday after a motor-vehicle stop on Route 16 east in Everett.

Trooper David Lucas first saw the Honda Accord, with New Jersey license plates, commit driving offenses on Route 28 north in Medford, according to a state police release. He then stopped the car in Everett.

During the investigation and search of the car, police allegedly found two kilograms of cocaine in the bottom of a child car seat. No child was in the car, police said.

The driver, Royer Vasquez DelRosario, 24, of Garfield, N.J., and passenger, Victor Nicolas Soto Sanchez, 29, of Bronx, N.Y., were arrested and charged with trafficking in over 200 grams of cocaine. DelRosario was also charged with texting while driving, failure to signal and a marked lanes violation, Sanchez with failure to wear a seatbelt.

Both men were held on $10,000 bail pending their appearances in Malden District Court, police said.
