Police Log: Man Arrested Twice in Four Hours

Medford police log, Friday, July 15 to Sunday, July 17, 2011.

A Ravine Road man was arrested and released Friday afternoon, only to be arrested again a few hours later, police said.

Nicholas Savini, 24, was arrested at his 84 Ravine Road about 2 p.m. Friday and charged with assault and battery. Savini was booked and released on bail within a couple of hours, but he didn't stay out long, according to the police log.

About 5:30 p.m., police were called to 40 Canal St., home to Savini Contractors, Savini's family's business, for reported vandalism.

Savini allegedly broke windows and caused other damage to the building, he was arrested again and charged with destruction of property. He spent the weekend in jail, police said.

  • ARREST: 11:06 p.m., 435 Riverside Ave. Info: Joseph Ross, 43, 171 Gaston St., larceny of a motor vehicle, breaking and entering, attempting to commit a crime (two counts), possession of burglarious equipment
