Police: Malden Robbery Suspect Fled Through Medford on Moped to Somerville Home

Man allegedly robbed an unidentified credit union in Malden around 3 p.m.

Malden and Somerville Police worked together to find a bank robbery suspect who fled Malden in a moped, and then apparently a cab, before hiding in a home on Montgomery Ave. in Somerville. 

The site of the initial robbery is not yet clear. The suspect was arrested in Somerville shortly after 4 p.m., according to police radio transmissions.

The suspect fled from the scene in a blue moped, wearing all black, including a helmet with a black and white design and a grey hoodie, according to police scanner transmissions. He first travelled down Route 60 before ditching the moped for a cab, which was allegedly spotted on Mystic Avenue.

Police found two mopeds blocks from the scene of the robbery, with ownership information for one of the vehicles matching the address on Montgomery Ave. where the suspect is believed to be hiding.

A helmet and pants were also recovered along the alleged robber's trail, according to radio transmissions.

The suspect was described as a white male, about 5'10” with a medium-to-heavy build.
