UPDATE: One Dead in Father/Son Double Shooting on Jerome St. in Medford

Medford Police forward queries to DAs office.

One man died in a double shooting on Jerome Street Friday night, according to authorities.

The victims have been identified as a father and son, according to the District Attorney's Office.

At about 10:40 p.m., Medford Police responded to shots fired at 55 Jerome Street where they found two victims suffering from serious gun shot wounds, according to a press release from Gerard Leone's office.

John Hatch, 36, died after being transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital, according to the press release.

The other victim, Hatch's father, has since been transferred from Lawrence Memorial to Massachusetts General Hospital and is expected to survive, authorities said.

The shooting is not believed to have been random. Medford Police and State Police assigned to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office continue to investigate, though no arrests had been made as of Saturday afternoon.
