Paul Camuso officially took over for Robert Maiocco as Medford City Council president Tuesday night.

Camuso, who is beginning his sixth term on the council, was elected by his peers in a 5-0 vote Tuesday (Camuso voted present; Councillor Robert Penta was absent due to an illness).

Maiocco did not seek re-election to the council this fall after 15 terms on the council, 13 as president.

Also on Tuesday, Councillor Richard Caraviello, entering his second term, was elected vice president in another 5-0 vote (he voted present, and again Penta was absent).
