Carroll's Approved to Stay Open Late-Night

New restaurant at 21 Main St. will be allowed to stay open to 1 a.m.

The will be allowed to stay open until 1 a.m.

The city council approved a request from the restaurant to remain open until 1 a.m. 7 days a week. The city ordinance allows businesses to stay open until 11 p.m.

The council approved the request by a 6-0-1 vote, with Frederick Dello Russo absent.

Maury Carroll, co-owner of the planned restaurant, said it will feature American-style grill food, seafood and roasted beefs. They hope to open the second week of December, he said.

The restaurant was also granted a victualler license by the city council.

The Carroll family owned a diner further South on Main Street - called Carroll's - from the 1930s until 1986.

"We think it will be something special," Carroll said last week. "We know the Square is getting rejuvenated and we’re pleased to be a piece of the puzzle."
