Does Medford Have a Public Bathroom Problem?

Are the city's public bathrooms in disrepair?

Over the summer, the Medford City Council put $10,000 toward renovating the bathrooms at the city’s public library.

On Tuesday, City Councillor Michael Marks said that money ended up going to a new “field air conditioner” at the library that was needed in August, leaving the bathrooms still in disrepair.

Marks said recently he was at Brooks Elementary School and the bathroom was in “deplorable condition.”

“The locks didn’t work; the wallpaper was ripping,” he said at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.

We’d add that the bathrooms at City Hall are in rough shape. In the men’s room, there has been a garbage bag over the broken urinal for quite some time now.
