On the Agenda: Minuteman Transportation, Science Lab Initiative

A look at the Medford School Committee Agenda.

The following items are expected to be discussed during Monday's Medford School Committee meeting, which will be held at 7 p.m. at City Hall:

  • Patricia Flynn, a Medford resident and parent of a student who attends Minuteman Regional High School, is expected to address the committee on transportation to Minuteman. Superintendent Roy Belson previously called for bus transportation to the school to be cut entirely this year, giving students MBTA passes instead. A bus was later allotted for the school, but it also makes runs for Medford Public Schools, causing pick-ups to be earlier and drop-offs later than previous years.
  • Belson is expected to give a report on the Medford High School Science Lab Intiative. The project will completely overhaul the school's science laboratories at a cost of $10- to $13 million, 60 percent of which will be paid for through a state grant.
