Some precinct wardens report high turnouts.

Some poll workers were reporting high turnouts Tuesday afternoon, attributing it to warm weather and contested races.

As of 1:30 p.m., 200 voters had cast ballots at Ward 1 Precinct 1 at Andrews Middle School. There were 490 ballots cast in 2009, and warden Laura Hankard said she thought the pace this year was higher.

"I think it's going way over that (490 voters)," Hankard said. "It's the mayor's race, that's the biggest thing. Plus, it's beautiful out."
