Reason for running: I am officially registered for the 2014 Boston Marathon! As many of you know, I was at mile 25.8, with my family proudly waiting for me at the finish line, when our city was forever changed. Over the next 90 minutes, I witnessed true heroism on Boylston Street. Words can't describe how hard and long I have been training and how hard I will run for those victims, their families and our city, especially the Campbell family.

I am currently planning on running from San Francisco to Boston, while remaining focused on writing a novel, called "25.8," which will be released in 2015. My vision with this initiative is to generate enough revenue to directly assist the victims and improve their overall wellbeing, with adequate health care and financial support.

With that being said, this will be my third year in a row representing the Boston Bruins Foundation. It is a top-notch non-profit foundation whose mission is to assist charitable organizations that demonstrate a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for underprivileged children throughout New England, with specific focus on athletics, academics, health and community outreach programs.

In 2012, I ran for the Boston Bruins Foundation, and it was an amazing experience. Our team battled through the upper 90s heat wave that day and motivated each other to finish the 26.2 with a "pain is temporary" no excuses mentality. It was hands down one of the most challenging experiences of my life, but the most rewarding.

In 2013, our team developed an unbreakable bond, after the tragic events on April 15. We came together as a team, a family and a city in the aftermath. It will be a true honor to wear the spoked B, which represents the greatest city in the world and cross the finish line on April 21, 2014.
