Fit for Life 5k a Success

Medford's Brian Bourne won the race for the second straight year.

The following was submitted by Allison Goldsberry on behalf of Fit for Life:

The fifth annual Medford Fit for Life 5K Run/Walk on Sunday was a huge success despite the gray weather.  Dozens of runners and walkers came out in support of an effort to raise money for deserving Medford children to attend summer camp in memory of Officer Pat Fahey.  The event, started by Brooks Elementary School teacher Kristin Howell, School Committee member Ann Marie Cugno, and City Councilor Breanna Lungo-Koehn, was held in cooperation with the Medford Public Schools, Department of Public Works, and the Fahey family.

Prizes were donated by local businesses, including John Brewer's Tavern, and food was once again generously donated by Raso's.

The race started and finished behind the McGlynn School and went around MacDonald Park.
