Car Stolen in Medford Blamed for Highway Accident

The driver of the stolen car drove the wrong way on Interstate 93 and caused a four-car crash, say Massachusetts State Police.

Update, 2:40 p.m.: State police say the Dodge Caravan was reported stolen from Grava Chrysler in Medford. UPDATE, 2:30 p.m.: The man arrested in this incident, Richard Saunders, of Reading, is wanted by Reading Police for another incident of driving in the wrong direction on a highway. He is accused of driving north in the southbound lane of Route 128, nearly hitting a family of four. Read the story on Reading Patch. A car reported stolen out of Medford is believed to have caused a four-car accident on Interstate 93 in Dorchester Monday after driving the wrong way on the highway, according to a statement from Massachusetts State Police. UPDATE: Driver in Governors Avenue Rollover Expected to Recover

Female driver transported to a Boston hospital.

A Malden woman who was injured in a rollover accident on Governors Avenue Thursday afternoon was discharged from the hospital later that night. Youdelyne Simon, 21, was behind the wheel when her 1998 tan Toyota Avalon flipped onto the center median on Governors Avenue near Porter Road about 3:30 p.m. Thursday. She was rushed by ambulance to Mass General Hospital with serious injuries, police said. She was released later that night, according to a hospital spokeswoman. Two other cars were involed in the accident near Medford Square but the driver of the Toyota was the only person injured, according to police. The other cars involved were a grey Subaru Impreza and a black Toyota Avalon. The Subaru had two people inside, Sandra and Luis …

One Dead in I-93 Wreck Near Medford/Somerville Line

Accident has one man in serious condition, according to state police.

The following information was provided by Massachusetts State Police: One man died in an accident on I-93 North bound Monday afternoon, state police said. A tractor-trailer lost a tire, which in turn struck a Ford Mustang, police said in a statement. The driver of the Mustang was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital where he was pronounced dead later on Monday evening. Preliminary investigation shows the tractor-trailer was on the southbound side when it lost the tire, which flew into the northbound side of the highway and hit the Mustang. Emergency responders had to use the jaws of life of rescue the man from his car. The victim is not being identfied at this time. He was in his 20s, police said.
