Suspect in Three Medford Robberies Arrested

Jonathan Williams, 31, of Revere, is also accused of holding up the QuickStop Somerville convenience store. Police say they received several tips from the public.

Police arrested a 31-year-old Revere man in connection to three armed robberies in Medford last week as well as Sunday's brazen armed robbery of the QuickStop Somerville convenience store. Jonathan Williams was arrested Wednesday in Woburn without incident, according to an announcement from Somerville police. According to the announcement, detectives received tips form the public and other sources that led them to Williams. The Somerville Police Department had release surveillance video of Sunday's robbery. The video depicted a man brandishing a pistol as he stole nearly $1,000 from the store's cash register and money box. The suspect was also thought to have been behind three armed robberies in Medford Jan. 24, according to Somerville …

Man Wanted For Medford, Somerville Robberies

Suspect has allegedly robbed three Medford stores.

Somerville police released surveillance video of a suspect who robbed the Somerville QuickStop Convenience Store, at 219 Highland Ave., at gunpoint. In the video you can see the suspect pull out a pistol and threaten the store's clerk with it while the robber helps himself to about $1,000 in cash from the register and money box. The robbery happened Sunday night. Police believe the suspect is the same man who robbed three stores in Medford. Transit Cop Stops Former Medford Man in Armed Robbery

Officer Matthew Donovan was in the right place at the right time.

Sometimes police work is about being in the right place at the right time. Such was the case for Transit Police officer Matthew Donovan, a 29-year-old Tewksbury resident. On Saturday, Jan. 5, at around 5:30 p.m., Donovan entered a Dunkin Donuts at 99 Cambridge St. in Charlestown and came across a robbery in progress. According to his report, Donovan initially heard a man, later identified as Michael Wallace, 35, formerly of Medford, screaming at the cashiers that they hadn't given him enough change and saw him leaning over the counter in a threatening manner. Donovan, who was in uniform and on duty, stepped in to defuse the situation. Wallace calmed down but Donovan wrote that the cashier told him the situation was actually a robbery. "He …

Medford Jeweler Robbed By Masked Man Wielding a Sledgehammer

The store's manager chased the suspect from the mall.

A jewelry store was robbed Sunday morning at Meadow Glen Mall by a masked man who made off with a stash of gold necklaces, according to Medford Police. A male wearing a black hoodie and a mask with a skeleton's face entered Marcou Jewelers at the mall about 11:09 a.m. and smashed a jewelry case with a "small sledgehammer like tool," a police press release said. "After smashing the front of the display case, the suspect reached in and grabbed a large quantity of gold chains," the press release said. The store's manager chased the masked man until he exited the mall, fleeing on foot to the area of Linden Street, the press release said. Also I can understand why someone might try to capture the person or people who might of robbed some one or some place, but putting your life on the line to do so isn't worth it, life is priceless!!!   more ›

VIDEO: Somerville Police Looking for Gas Station Robber

Somerville Police are looking for a suspect in a July 12 knifepoint robbery of a Sunoco gas station on Broadway.

The following is an announcement provided by Somerville Police: Somerville Police Looking to Identify Robbery Suspect Somerville Police are seeking to identify the suspect who robbed a local gas station near the Medford line. On July 12th, at about 8:45 p.m., the Sunoco Gas Station at 541 Broadway in Somerville was robbed at knifepoint. The store surveillance video shows the suspect arriving in a black sedan, possibly a Nissan Maxima, with a towel covering it’s license plate, then entered the store and walked up to the counter, where he spoke briefly to the clerk.
