Police Identify Medford Bank Robbery Suspect

East Cambridge Savings Bank robbed at 243 Salem St. in Medford Wednesday.

Medford Police have identified the suspect in Wednesday afternoon's robbery at the East Cambridge Savings Bank on Salem Street as Robert Cornejo, 26, of Russell Street in Malden. Police said Cornejo has been charged with armed robbery while masked and faces arraignment today in Somerville District Court. Cornejo is alleged to have entered the bank at 243 Salem St. shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday wearing a ski mask and passed a note to a teller saying he had a gun and demanded money. Police said a dye pack exploded in a bag with money given to Cornejo. After a description of a gray Volkswagen as a getaway vehicle was circulated to local law enforcement, a similar vehicle driven by a female was stopped in Chelsea. The driver was interviewed …

Medford Bank Robbed, Malden Man Arrested

Suspect allegedly passed a note at East Cambridge Savings Bank saying he had a gun while demanding money.

A man from Malden was arrested Wednesday afternoon shortly after he allegedly robbed the East Cambridge Savings Bank at 243 Salem St. in Medford. Medford Police Capt. Kevin Faller said the suspect was arrested in Malden could not provide his name. Malden Police Chief Kevin Molis said the arrest took place at a Russell Street home in his city. Faller said the suspect is being charged with armed robbery while masked. According to Faller, the suspect entered the bank around 2:53 p.m. Wednesday wearing a ski mask and handed a note to the teller that said he had a gun and demanded money. UPDATE: Medford Police Seeking Bank Robbery Suspect

Suspect sought in East Cambridge Savings Bank robbery from last Thursday.

UPDATE, 9:30 a.m.: Medford Police Capt. Kevin Faller said the robbery suspect showed a black handgun during the incident and got away on a bicycle with an undetermined amount of cash. Faller said the robbery took place at the 243 Salem St. East Cambridge Savings Bank location last Thursday at approximately 4:40 p.m. According to Faller, the suspect was wearing a full ski mask, making it difficult to provide a full description. The suspect is a white male standing about 5-feet, 8-inches tall, Faller said. He walked into the bank, according to Faller, showing the handgun while passing a note to a female teller. Medford Man Charged with Winchester Bank Robbery

The following information was supplied by the Winchester Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 28-year-old Medford man was charged with unarmed robbery for allegedly robbing a bank in Winchester last month. Michael J. Grande, 28, of Medford stole $500 from Sovereign Bank in Winchester on Feb. 7, police said. According to Lt. Peter MacDonnell, Grande allegedly handed a note to a teller that read "Give me all you cash. Hurry up." The teller complied and he allegedly fled, with the note. Winchester Police were informed that Grande was the suspect based on video surveillance. Grande was being held at the Cambridge jail on separate charges when Winchester Police charged him for robbing the Sovereign Bank. Bank Robbery Reported at Citizens Bank in West Medford

Police searching for suspect Wednesday afternoon.

The Citizens Bank in West Medford was robbed Wednesday afternoon, according to police radio transmissions. The robbery occurred about 12:30 p.m., and police were searching for a suspect described as a white male about 6 feet 2 inches with a blue jacket, according to @AlertNewEngland, who first reported the robbery. The Citizens Bank is located at 501 High Street in West Medford. Patch placed a call to Medford Police Wednesday afternoon seeking information on the robbery, but as of late Wednesday evening it had not been returned.

UPDATE: Robbery at Eastern Bank in Medford

Bank robbed this morning.

Police are searching for the suspect in an unarmed bank robbery on Locust Street Friday morning. The suspect, described as a white male, about 5' 7" to 5' 11", entered Eastern Bank at 53 Locust St. about 10:55 a.m. and passed the teller a note demanding money, Medford Police Lt. Paul Covino said in an email. The teller handed him an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect fled on foot towards the Rockwell Avenue area near the Laprise Village Housing Development. The man was described as wearing a zipper-front hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans, white sneakers, and a dark colored Red Sox baseball cap, Covino said in the email.
