Bistro 5 Owner Gives Thanksgiving Tips and Talks About His New Restaurant

The Owner and Head Chef at Bistro 5, Vittorio Ettore, sat down with Patch to talk Thanksgiving recipes and his new restaurant opening in Winchester, A Tavola.

Vittorio Ettore, Owner and Head Chef at Bistro 5 has been serving authentic Tuscany-inspired Italian dishes to Medford for years. With his new restaurant, A Tavola, opening up in Winchester this week, Patch had a chance to sit down with Ettore and talk shop, including his best Thanksgiving recipes. Chef Ettore Chef Ettore explained how he got his start in cooking and his Italian roots when he mentioned, “I learned to eat first. I grew up in Tuscany. We had rabbit every Sunday. We sat down for lunch and dinner every single day. We had a pig and the name would expire every year. Bistro 5 Owner to Open New Eatery in Winchester

Vittorio Ettore, owner of Bistro 5 in West Medford, plans to open a new restaurant in the current Parsons Table space in mid-November.

If you’re already missing Parsons Table, which is closing this month, don’t fret too much: Vittorio Ettore, owner of Bistro 5 in West Medford, is moving in. Ettore’s new restaurant will be A Tavola, Italian for “at the table,” and is expected to open at 34 Church St. in Winchester in mid-November. Ettore describes A Tavola as “farm-to-table eclectic Italian.” The feel will be a bit more casual and rustic than Bistro 5, but with a continued focus on fresh, local ingredients. Ettore will bring cooking techniques from his native Italy to foods found here in the United States and will also add his own twists to the cuisine.
