Carroll's Restaurant Opens in Medford Square

The new Carroll's opened to the public Thursday afternoon.

The new Carroll's restaurant at 21 Main Street opened at 4 p.m. Thursday. The restaurant will be open afternoons and evenings for its first few weeks, then open up for lunch once things settle in, co-owner Tom Carroll said Thursday. Carroll and his brother, Maury have been working to get the restaurant open since October, when they took over the former location of Il Faro and the storefront next to it and began remodeling work. It features a 140-seat dining room and 40-seat bar with views of the Mystic River. "There's a lot of people we are going to want to thank," Tom Carroll said, "but we just want to get up and going and through a weekend first." The original Carroll's, located at 101 Main St., was opened in the 1930s by the Carrolls' …

New Medford Square eatery is near the end of the licensing process, co-owner Maury Carroll says.

The Carroll family is opening the restaurant 26 years after the original Carroll's Diner on Main Street closed its doors for good. The new restaurant features 140 seats and a large bar area with 66 inch flat screen TVs and windows overlooking the Mystic River. The …

Carroll's Puts Up New Signs, Eyes Spring Opening

The restaurant aims open by late March or early April.

For the first time in 26 years, a sign for Carroll's restaurant dons a Medford storefront. Crews hung brown awnings Wednesday that read "Carroll's" and signs with gold lettering advertising oysters, ales and a bar and grill at the under-construction new restaurant at 21 Main St. Work is coming along inside, too, co-owner Tom Carroll said Wednesday. I was a dishwasher at Carroll's Diner. This was in the early 70's. Carroll's food was always good, I never heard any complaints against them, I hope it remains the same. GOOD LUCK CARROLL"S.   more ›
