East Cambridge Savings Bank robbed at 243 Salem St. in Medford Wednesday.
Medford Police have identified the suspect in Wednesday afternoon's robbery at the East Cambridge Savings Bank on Salem Street as Robert Cornejo, 26, of Russell Street in Malden. Police said Cornejo has been charged with armed robbery while masked and faces arraignment today in Somerville District Court. Cornejo is alleged to have entered the bank at 243 Salem St. shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday wearing a ski mask and passed a note to a teller saying he had a gun and demanded money. Police said a dye pack exploded in a bag with money given to Cornejo. After a description of a gray Volkswagen as a getaway vehicle was circulated to local law enforcement, a similar vehicle driven by a female was stopped in Chelsea. The driver was interviewed …

UPDATE, 8:40 p.m.: According to a statement from Somerville police, Edward Anthony Paulino, 19, is charged with armed home invasion, armed robbery, two counts of receiving stolen property (money and a firearm), carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without a license, and resisting arrest. Derrick Steven Paul, 22, is charged with armed home invasion and resisting arrest. Police said Paulino was the suspect arrested inside the Somerville Housing Authority building. Paulino was listed by police as homeless while Paulino's address is unconfirmed. The pizza parlor employee then accused police officers of being racist, according to a police report.
An employee of Papa John's Pizza, driving a car with a Papa John's sign on it, tried to run down a pedestrian outside Parlor Sports Bar in Inman Square, according to allegations in a police report. The victim told police he had parked on Beacon Street across from Parlor Sports and was crossing the street in the crosswalk when Junior Dornevil, 23, of 246 Middlesex Ave., Medford, stopped his green Honda Civic, got out, chest bumped, pushed and spat on the victim, according to the report. Dornevil then got back into his Civic and "gunned the car" toward the victim, only to be stopped by the curb, the report says. A Melrose teen faces a charge of assault to murder after allegedly stabbing a man in a fight in Medford Square. Derik DeAngelo, 19, and another man were allegedly in a fist fight about 9:30 p.m. Friday near 35 Riverside Ave. when DeAngelo pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim. He is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault to murder. Further information on the incident was not immediately available Monday. A Medford firefighter is on paid leave after he was arrested for allegedly beating an acquaintance with a pair of electrical pliers, according to city officials and police reports. Fire Lt. Paul Spencer, 56, faces charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery after an incident at a Howard Road home on Oct. 14 that left another man with a bloody head wound and unable to move his fingers, according to a Medford police report.
