Super Bowl XLVII is this Sunday, Feb. 3, starting at 6:30 p.m. EST on CBS. The Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers could have a battle to the final second –NFL.com analysts are pretty split on their favorites. It is shaping up to be another of those major American festivities, including Beyonce singing at half-time, and, of course, Super Bowl ads.

If you're a local football fan, the New England Patriots' controversial Sunday Night loss to the Baltimore Ravens probably left you with a bad taste in your mouth and a strong opinion about the status of officiating in the NFL. The much-discussed replacement referee issue was forced front-row center again Monday night when a nationally-televised game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers appeared to be determined by an incorrect call made by a team of back-up officials. You won't ever catch Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick trash talking Rex Ryan, but a Congressman representing a whole lot of Patriots fans had no problem taking a jab at the out-of-the-playoffs head coach of the New York Jets. Congressman Ed Markey briefly spoke to the audience gather at Medford City Hall to inaugurate Mayor Michael McGlynn.
