Boston Mayor Menino Endorses Elizabeth Warren for U.S Senate

He gave his endorsement at a pro-Warren rally in Roslindale on Friday afternoon.

Boston Mayor Thomas Menino endorsed U.S. Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren for United States Senate during a pro-Warren rally in Roslindale Friday.   Menino, a Democrat, said he did not endorse Warren right away because he "wanted to get to know her" first. And he came to his final decision by pretending he wasn't the mayor, he said.  "What if I was just a guy from Hyde Park who had a job with the city, whose wife was an accountant and worried about their retirement savings," he said. "What if I was any guy who wondered how his two kids would send his six grandkids to college, and whether they would have good jobs on the other end.  If I wasn’t the Mayor, who would speak up in Washington on my behalf? Out of 524 voters surveyed from Sept. 13 to 17, 49 percent said they would vote for Brown versus 45 percent who said they would support Warren. The poll's margin …

I watched the debate last night and in my opinion Scott Brown outperformed Warren. I love how Warren claims to be for the working class which she knows nothing about seeing that she lives in a 3 million dollar home in Cambridge and I came from a small apt. in Cambridge. I think I can use the same mentality with her riches just like folks do with Romney being out of touch because he is rich.   more ›
