Opinions are wide and varied on this polarizing topic.
We expected some heavy debate when we posted this article Monday asking Medford Patch readers if a Walmart is something they want to see in the city. With over 30 comments on our Facebook page and another half dozen on the article itself, the debate we envisioned certainly came true. Some believe it would be a great idea and if it is brought to the Meadow Glen Mall as has been speculated, it could revitalize the shopping center. But many others worry about the impact on smaller local businesses. Here is a sampling of the opinions shared by our readers: Sarah Beardslee: "I wouldn't set one foot in there, even if it was the last store in existence! They treat their …

There are a lot of people who have trouble obeying the speed limit, but which street in Medford do you think has the biggest problem with speeding?
Medford is a major hub of commuter traffic, being along the I-93 corridor with several other significant state highways going through the community. As can be expected with a city like Medford, there have to be several spots throughout town where people just can't keep their speeds down, causing concern for residents. Last week, we asked our Facebook readers which were the worst speeding spots in Medford and we got a lot of different answers from across the city. Many people have trouble obeying the speed limit, but is there one particular area of Medford where people tend to speed most often? Is there one street in Medford where people often drive too fast? Tell us in the comments section below. [Follow Medford Patch on Twitter, like us …
