Mayor says Medford is his "first love."
The longest-tenured mayor in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts loves his current job and isn't seeking a different one. Wednesday afternoon, Medford Mayor Michael McGlynn announced he would not be a candidate for the 5th U.S. Congressional District seat currently held by Ed Markey, who is running in the Democratic primary for June's special U.S. Senate election. "My full attention for many years has been and will continue to be to improve the quality of life for all in the City of Medford," McGlynn said. Massachusetts Rep. Carl Sciortino (D) of Medford announced Friday he is a candidate for the state's 5th U.S. Congressional District.
