John Miele, Pinewood Derby Champ
The 7-year-old had the fastest car in all the Tiger Cubs.
John Stephen Miele III, 7, is a student at Mystic Valley Regional Charter School, parishioner at St. Francis Church, and also builder of one of the fastest pinewood derby cars in all of Medford. His wheels took first place in Tiger Cub division of Pinewood Derby and third place overall. John’s Key to Awesomeness: The Golden Road Ripper! John built his car, the Golden Road Ripper, with help from his dad. John decorated the Road Ripper with Legos, but had to strip it down to meet the weight requirements. John’s car fused two of John’s favorite things: science and Legos. John loves school, especially Science and History, and he sometimes calls himself Science Man.
