ReplyI worked at Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor in high school (another location entirely) and remember how much fun it was. I have always been angry that the entire Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor chain was "vulture-capitalized" and destroyed by Romney's Bain Capital...(yes...THAT Romney...) just in case anyone wanted to know where Farrell's went and why you don't see them anywhere...anymore. Thanks, Mitt!

ReplySince you've been researching me, (thanks for your interest...) then you probably discovered that the action taken by the SCNC was illegal, and that the stakeholders unanimously objected to the SCNC's attempted bullying of me...and also that the stakeholders of Studio City re-elected me to the board within weeks of that illegal action. Slandering my job history is dangerous, because it proves beyond doubt how little you know...and also proves that, like your other unfounded comments, that you're just guessing and 'flapping your own gums' without knowledge...right? Again, though I do not support Obama, and will not vote for him...I don't need to tell lies about him to criticize him, as your candidate has done and still does. And Jill Stein has been most happy to receive my support in this election...saw her just the other day! She also doesn't tell lies about her opponents...just the truth. Thanks for mentioning her and thanks for your warm-hearted comments, interest and consideration. I assume they reflect the same type of warmth and compassion that your candidate stands for...he should be proud of your efforts on his behalf as a Romney surrogate. You've allowed Studio City Patch readers to see what Romney stands for, and exactly what type of people support him. That's a welcome clarification for us all. Good job, Bob!

The entire Middle East is NOT in flames...the only thing entirely in flames around here, is your rhetoric, Irene. And...I never compared capital gains to income...I said that Romney pays a much lower tax rate than his secretary...14% on his passive income, while hard-working Americans pay much more, ususally around 26%. Why should Romney pay so much less just because he's a millionaire who doesn't work to earn that capital gains income? And why should he be allowed to hide his millions in wealth from being taxed properly in tax havens like the Cayman Islands and Switzerland, when no American president in history has ever done so? Why is that okay with you? If you think your taxes are too high, why don't you join the people who you say are leaving the state because taxes are too high? You're still here, so taxes can't be that bad. I get the feeling that your uninformed talking points are as honest as the drivel Romeny offered up in the debate, which every news source has reported to be untruthful.

In my father's country, Americans didn't hurl false accusations at each other, as you have done, Bob...unless, of course, you grew up in a different country, where baseless, cheap shots were a way of life. That's not an American trait at all, so now I must ask...which father's country are you talking about? Romney's father's country was Mexico....what's yours? (Before you ask, mine was USA!)

ReplyAnd my personal favorite...
Mitt Romney is one of the wealthiest self-made men in our country but has given more back to its citizens in terms of money, service and time than most men.
(If this were so, then why doesn't he give back more to his own nation and pay more in taxes, like almost every other working man and woman in our nation? He only pays 14% while others pay at least 25%...so he he has NOT given back more than others...he's withheld more, and continues to do so with his off-shore tax havens.)Does this help our readers with clarifications of the Romney "facts?"

Actually, Greg Smith DID attend the meeting, so you got that fact wrong, Northridge Patch...it's just that Smith wasn't invited to particpate in the City Attorney debate by SOHA...and exclusionary pratices seem to be the norm, and are a major problem for this group. Is SOHA anti-democratic? They are planning a mayoral debate for January with usual suspects Garcetti, Greuel and Jan Perry, but, again, have excluded the brightest star of our local political firmament, mayoral candidate, Kevin James, from the debate. When I asked them why, they said they "couldn't get ahold of him." Yeah...right. I hope that SOHA includes Kevin James in their mayoral debate for January....otherwise they'll lose any credibility they have left for hosting honest and dependable debates that let voters know about ALL their choices.
