The move to repeal gay marriage in NH is the epitome of the GOP's hypocrisy. The NH Republican Platform makes it clear that repealing gay marriage is contrary to their own platform! Section II of the NH Republican platform reads, "The Republican Party is, and historically has been, the Party of ideas and bold leadership in New Hampshire. The foremost convictions that distinguish our Party in New Hampshire are:
- Protecting the fundamental rights of the people and enhancing their freedom.
- Promotes a limited government that is open, responsive and fully accountable to its citizens without interfering in their personal, daily lives...."

In a state where the motto is "Live free or die," it would seem such a repeal would also be contrary to the values of the entire state, regardless of party. If the repeal is passed I would hope there be an amendment made to the NH Constitution to formally change the state motto to, "Live free or die unless you are gay."
