Mayor Seeks Compensation for Medford if Proposed Casino Comes to Everett

Michael McGlynn said a casino could cause headaches and seeks mitigations if it becomes a reality.

Medford Mayor Michael McGlynn said a casino in neighboring Everett would cause headaches for the city and seeks mitigation if the proposal becomes a reality.

McGlynn said he started meeting with consultants for Wynn Resorts, the group proposing the casino, according to a report on Boston.com.

The casino is proposed to go on a former Monsanto chemical plant in Everett. McGlynn worries about increased traffic in and around Wellington Circle, which sits about a mile from the potential casino site, according to the report.
