Elvira Sciaba, 87, Medford Resident, Formerly of Jamaica Plain

Elvira P. Sciaba of Medford, formerly of Jamaica Plain, died on Aug. 16 at the age of 87.

She was born in Boston’s South End, and the daughter of the late Antonio and the late Gabiella (Chiara) Sciaba. She enjoyed wintering in Venice, Fla., and was a member of the Chatterbox Club, according to an obituary on the Dello Russo Funeral Home website.

She was preceded by her siblings the late Paul Sciaba, Santina Levaggi, Elaine Sciaba, Mary Filichia, Vincent Sciaba, John Sciaba, Edward Sciaba and Theresa Ruggiero. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St. in Medford, on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St. in Medford, at 9 a.m. Visiting hours will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, Aug. 21 from 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Forest Hills Cemetery in Boston.
