Grace E. DiMartino, Longtime Medford Resident, St. Francis of Assisi Parishioner, Dies at 90

DiMartino died Monday, Oct. 21.

Grace E. (Dantes) DiMartino, of Medford, died peacefully Monday evening at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was 90.

Grace was born and raised in Malden, the daughter of the late Raymond and Rose (Tavano) Dantes. A Medford resident since 1946 and an active parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Parish for 60 years, Grace was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She especially enjoyed time with her grandsons and the company of her family and friends.

The beloved wife of the late Frank J. DiMartino who died in 1975, she was a devoted mother to Mary Grace DiMartino and her husband Doug Packer and to Patricia DiMartino, all of Medford. She was a loving grandmother to Ryan F. Griffin of Houston and Robert Packer of Medford. The sister of Marion Lumino and Stella Pinkham, both of Malden, she is preceded in death by her brother Salvatore “JoJo” Dantes.

Family and friends may call Thursday from 3 - 7  p.m. at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, and again on Friday, Oct. 25, at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in Saint Francis of Assisi Church at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
