Medford Man Charged with Breaking and Entering in Arlington

The following information comes from the Arlington Police Department. When arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

A Pelham Terrace man in Arlington was getting ready for work at about 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, when he spotted one man checking a car-door handle and another inside his niece’s car, he told police.

He yelled at the men and then followed them while on the phone with police from Pelham Terrace to Wellington Street. Arlington police soon located the men in a minivan on Wellington Street. The men had cocaine and a stolen GPS on them, among other suspicious items.

Russell Rossi, 25, of Golden Avenue, Medford, and Gary Sylvain, a 25-year-old homeless man, were arrested. Both men were charged with felony breaking and entering, receiving stolen property under $250 and having an open container in a motor vehicle. Rossi was also charged with operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license, Sylvain with possession of a Class B drug.
