Blight on Main Street?

Medford City Councillor Rick Caraviello has filed a resolution asking his colleagues to revoke the special permit for an auto repair/gas station at 425 Main St., the former home of A&B Auto Repair.

Caraviello wrote in his resolution that the property has been a “neighborhood blight and problem” now that A&B has closed.

“Be It Resolved that Board of Appeals revoke the special permit for a use variance Auto Repair/ Gas Station on 425 Main Street now that the present occupant has closed. This property has been a neighborhood blight and problem.”

The council will discuss the resolution at its 7 p.m. meeting Tuesday, Sept. 10, in Howard F. Alden Memorial Auditorium in Medford City Hall, according to its agenda.
